Job Description: 

Our company is seeking a highly skilled Red Seal Agriculture Equipment Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of agricultural or heavy equipment. This role requires an individual with strong technical skills, a passion for working with large machinery, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural or heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, combines, loaders, excavators, and more. 
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify issues and perform repairs. 
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs to ensure the equipment operates at optimal efficiency. 
  • Test and operate repaired equipment to verify repairs are successful. 
  • Keep detailed records of service work, including parts used and hours worked on equipment. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations. 
  • Use specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical manuals to conduct repairs. 
  • Assist in training apprentices and provide mentorship where necessary. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Red Seal Certification as an Agriculture Equipment Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician. 
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with agricultural or heavy-duty equipment. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical systems. 
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and specialized tools. 
  • Excellent understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems. 
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality repairs. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. 
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 
  •  Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills are an asset. 
  • Familiarity with computerized inventory and work order systems an asset. 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 60-70 lbs). 
  • Standing, walking, bending, and crouching for extended periods. 
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions as needed.
